RFC has always been conscious of the environment with our recycling procedures as well as our compliance with Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI). As an environmentally responsible company, RFC ensures that all of its containerboard is procured through renewable sources or recycled materials. Through the SFI certified program we can guarantee that 100% of our raw material is from legal, renewable and responsible sources. Today, 90% of the world’s forests are not certified. The certifications on our products lets the consumer know they are buying something made from Fiber, that has been sourced responsibly and backed by an independent 3rd party auditor.

The United States, with only 4.6% of the world’s population, produces about 33% of the world’s solid waste. Here at RFC we take the time to recycle, all of the waste our plant produces is gathered, chipped and bundled to be shipped out to a recycling facility. Utilizing recycled and renewable material in the initial manufacturing of our products and sending out all waste to be recycled properly, we have virtually no waste from start to finish of our production.

This is all in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible. Consequently, we have taken the next logical step and installed over 6 acres of solar panels. The solar field creates enough energy to be our only source of power. This makes us the first and only corrugated manufacturer in the world to be powered completely with 100% solar energy. We understand how important it is to convert to a Green energy source and are proud to say we no longer rely on fossil fuels.
